Switch to new customer accounts

B2B buyers sign in to your store with new customer accounts. That’s where they see their company’s prices, payment terms and, with Termpact, their balance and statements.

While your store uses classic customer accounts, setup is blocked:

  • you can create price lists, order rules and credit limits as usual
  • none of it reaches buyers: contract prices, order rules and credit checks stay switched off at checkout, and the storefront shows your regular prices

Today shows a banner until you switch.

  1. In Shopify, go to Settings → Customer accounts.
  2. Choose New customer accounts and save.
  3. Back in Termpact, select Check again on the Use new customer accounts step on Today.

Termpact switches everything on within a few minutes. If you don’t select Check again, it notices within the hour.

  • Signing in. Buyers sign in with their email address and a one-time code that Shopify sends them. There are no passwords to remember or reset.
  • Existing customers keep their order history, addresses and account details.
  • B2B contacts can switch between the company locations they buy for, and see the prices and payment terms for each.

Tell your buyers before you switch, especially if they’re used to signing in with a password. See Shopify’s help on customer accounts for every detail.

If you switch back to classic accounts, Termpact blocks setup again: contract prices, order rules and credit checks switch off at checkout until you switch to new customer accounts again. Nothing you’ve set up is lost.
